Thanks for the information. I will check into it. I'm really excited to have some additional information.

My ancestor was Jesse Skipper. He enlisted on 14 June 1862 (leaving a wife and five children at home), and died in August of the same year. I know this from the estate settlement. Other than that, I know very little about him.
