In Response To: McNair/Reynolds Brigade ()

Right after Chickamauga, around Sept 22 or 23rd after burying their dead etc, McNair's Bde returned to Mississippi to oppose Sherman's activities. They operated throughout central and eastern Miss and into Ala when Sherman launched his Meridian campaign. When Sherman came east to join up with Grant, eventually McNair's bde, now under the command of BG Reynold's shipped early May to north of Atlanta and was in place and took part at the Battle of Dug Gap, GA on May 8th where they played a key role in thwarting (barely) the Feds attempt to turn the Confederate position there outside Dalton. After that, they were part of the AoT until the end in NC.
