It is interesting to me that on August 11, 1863, the day after the Battle of Wilson's Creek, the Arkansas State Troops Regimens would be busy signing petitions to retain their commanders....

1ST ARKANSAS CAVALRY REGIMENT ARKANSAS STATE TROOPS NARA Microfilm Roll #14, There was a petition circulated among the officers 11Aug1861 to keep the same commander

4TH ARKANSAS INFANTRY REGIMENT, STATE TROOPS NARA Roll #76 After the battle at Wilson's Creek, MO 10 Aug 186 a petition was circulated among the officers to allow the commander to remain in command of the the regiment.

5TH ARKANSAS INFANTRY, STATE TROOPS CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA This unit is on microfilm roll #84 There was a petition signed 11 Aug 1864 by most officers, petitioning the president to Retain Gen. Bart Pearce in his command, 1st Ark State Inf.
