Costumed interpreters and reenactors will explore the everyday life of civilians and soldiers. They will debate the political issues that engulfed the state during this critical year of the Civil War in Arkansas. Children will also enjoy hands-on activities and old fashioned games. Admission is free.

11 a.m.: 1862 Election: The people vote for governor
1 p.m.: Firing Demonstration
2 p.m.: General Assembly Opens: Legislators choose a Confederate Senator and address the issues facing the state
3 p.m.: Firing Demonstration
This Civil War program will take place at the Old State House Museum, located at 300 West Markham Street in downtown Little Rock. Admission to this event and the museum is free.
