Yes I am still talking about Miller's Co before and after it joined Crawford. Also, the military roster does not state his age or nativity.....that is what the researcher compiled using the roster and then looking at the census. If James Peeler used his stepfather's lat name then they would both be James W. Wallace. The researcher then found the James W. Wallace in Saline Co 1860 and assumed he was the same James W. Wallace on the rolls of Co B, Crawford's regiment without having any way to know it was actually James W. Peeler. I would have came to the same conclusion if I didn't know descendants. Again, it is still possible that both served and Peeler just doesn't have a CSR card, but he had enough to prove service and get a pension. The info I got was he was wounded at Jenkins Ferry, not sure when he lost his horse, if it was at Poison Springs, Marks Mill or some other time, and not sure who he was serving with during the battle since the cavalry was not even there but miles away. Hope this makes it a little clearer. When you look at info that comes from other researchers, many times they incorporate other data from other sources and while it is correct most of the time, there are certain instances when we can't know exactly all the information, as in the case with James Peeler (Wallace).
