Mark,

Bryan's pronunciation would be correct for the man who carries the name, and that would be the correct pronunciation back in Europe. However, St. Louisans and Missourians in general have their own way of saying such names. Notorious examples include Versailles, county seat of Morgan County, and Gravois Road in St. Louis. The corporate headquarters for Ralston Purina sits on Gratiot Street on the south side of the downtown district of St. Louis. ARushing's pronunciation is all I ever heard here in St. Louis from the natives. I suppose you could call Ralston Purina and inquire, but make sure and ask somebody there who has been around St. Louis for a while. It's kind of like the famous Rebel yell, which I suppose would also be hard to spell phonetically.
