The battery crossed the Mississippi River into the state of Mississippi and served in that state from early 1862 to early 1865. It went back across the Mississippi River in 1865 and was surrendered on May 26th 1865 in the Trans-Mississippi. This conflicts with information from Bryan who indicated that the battery was among the last Confederate troops east of the Mississippi River to surrender on May 10, 1865, at Meridian, Mississippi. Can anyone sort this out?
