Jeff. Thompson in Command of a Rebel Force at Pocahontas
Ex-Gov. Jackson, of Missouri, Dead.
ST. LOUIS, Friday, Dec. 26.
Advices received here at headquarters from Pilot Knob are to the effect that a deserter from Col. GREEN'S rebel regiment reports JEFF. THOMPSON at Pocahontas with between five and six thousand infantry, mostly Missouri and Arkansas troops; also, two regiments of cavalry and one battery. The deserter left Pocahontas last Monday.
Reliable information has been received that CLAIBORNE F. JACKSON, the deposed Governor of the State of Missouri, died at Little Rock, Ark., about the 8th instant.
