Well, I know you didn't ask for 1862, but since I had a few notes from The Alexander Papers, I thought I would post them.
8/1/62 Hindman to Col Carroll-send to Ft McCulloch for the 2 bronze guns and equipment left there by Pike and move them to Fort Smith
The 12 Parrot guns there have been ordered here
The 2 guns above and the 6 of West’s btry will be sufficient for Gen Rains, Col Cooper and yourself making a 4 gun btry for each
Hurry up the equipment of Reed’s btry
8/8/62 Hindman to Rains, Cooper, Carroll via Fort Smith
Here is the artillery arrangement to be carried out immediately:
Rains will take Reed’s battery but will return to Col Carroll the men he may have taken from his command for that btry and make up a company for Capt Reed by detail from his own force
Col Cooper will take either West’s or Howell’s Company, as he prefers, with 3 of the 6 bronze guns moved from Ft McCulloch [left there by Pike]
Col Carroll will take the company not selected by Cooper and the remaining 4 bronze guns
Equipments will be divided pro rata.
8/8/62 Hindman to Major Pearce Fort Smith-I want these btrys completely effective by 8/25
