Shoup's Battery

I am sorry if somebody has already posted this, but Shoup's battery was apparently disbanded prior to 16 January 1863. A letter from Hindman to Samuel S. Anderson of that date states..

"The light pieces of artillery, eight in number which were in Marmaduke's Division were found to be worthless, and were turned over to my Ordnance Officer with instructions to turn them over to the Ordnance Officer at this place. They are now at Dardanelle awaiting transportation. The Company (Shoup's) which was organised for these pieces, and which had been made up of detailed men, was disbanded, the men sent back to their original commands and the officers relieved of duty."
