Well, that would seem to strengthen the argument that Trigg's Battery picked up the Nickname Austin Artillery because of Thomas Austin rather than a geographical reference. Is there some other reason for a unit organized in Pulaski county to have the title Austin Artillery?
I think Trigg served in Woodruff's first battery, the Totten/Pulaski Light Artillery during the siezure of Fort Smith in April 1861.
