Gentlemen, I was following this artillery thread & wanted to throw this into the mix. In early June 1865 Federals were in Camden accepting the surrender of Confederate soldiers. A patrol went into Columbia & Union counties. At Magnolia a four gun battery was discovered. There isnt a description of the types of guns, just that 2 guns were near town & two others were 12 miles away at another location.
