elusive CSA Camp Reed FINALLY found...!!?!?!?

I have been trying to find out exactly where “CSA Camp Reed” during the Winter of 1864-1865 was located for many, many years; see:

http://www.oocities.org/enlistedman/j_bishop.html

Microfilm documents in the Herndon Supplement of Arkansas CSA Soldiers stored at the Arkansas History Commission in Little Rock, Arkansas list both Joseph L. Bishop and William P. Bishop as being "guards at Camp Reed during the Winter of 1864-65" and belonging to Company C, 10th Arkansas Cavalry under now Captain C.K. Holman and Col. Robert C. Newton. Documents in the Official Records of the War of Rebellion suggest that Co. C, Ist Batt'n Ark. State Cav. (Oct. 1863) became Capt. C.K. Holman's Co., Arkansas State Troops, then Co. C, 3rd Regt. Ark. State Cav. (Sept./ Oct. 1864) before becoming, finally, Co. C, 10th Ark. Cav. (Newton's) (Winter 1864-65).”

Today, I stumbled across the following EXCITING bit of text posted online re the archaeology at Dooley's Ferry, near Fulton, Hempstead County AR; see:

http://www.academia.edu/1534109/Crossroads_of_Conflict_Archaeology_at_Dooleys_Ferry_Hempstead_County_Arkansas

(just below Figure 2 showing the Sargent Map, 1864: )
"The war brought changes to this landscape, including a Confederate camp at the ferry occupied by the 10th
Arkansas Cavalry through May of 1865, a possible holding pen for Union soldiers captured in Arkansas being sent to prison in Texas, and an extensive system of entrenchments to the east."

I think I may have FINALLY found the location where my great-grandpa Joe L. Bishop and his brother guarded Federal prisoners; it has been a long search!!! MEGA thanks to Carl Carlson-Drexler for sharing his research online!!!!!!!!

I am a Happy Camper..... .
