In looking at his CSR's it does not show he was in the hospital in Jackson. It does show him being furloughed home from the Memphis. He left Island #10 in March and probably went to Memphis. he then went home while his unit was captured and spent until Sept in Prison. He is then listed as present there on until he shows up as deserting on Sept 9, 1863. Nothing about stay in hospital in Jackson
