Thank you, sir. Your efforts are much appreciated. I have a hard time understanding the flow of the war and I am just putting together the genealogical aspect of his life. I had assumed that he was in the battles that his unit fought during the time of his enlistment. His desertion was at the time his enlistment time ended. So I don't know what that means.
Did his record show what his injury was? There was a rumor he lost a leg.
