I'm trying to determine if my Great Grandfather, Dallas Yell Berry, actually was involved in the Battle of Pea Ridge. He was living in Madison County, AR and would have been about 17½ in March 1862, having been born 14 Oct 1844.

I have two obituaries (Benton County Sun, 9/26/1907 and Ft Smith Elevator, 9/27/1907) that indicate he served but I can find nothing else to back this up. Both obits say he was a Confederate soldier but do not provide Unit names or any other information. I've tried searching the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System as well as other internet sources, but do not find his name. Can anyone point me to any archives that I might search, physically or on-line?
