A little more information on this company, Militia Commissions were issued to The following officers on February 18, 1861

Thomas Gist, Captain
John M. Kelley 1LT
Albert Jones 2LT
Philip A Gilbert 3LT

It appears this company, along with the Phillips Guard, and Yell Rifles participated in the seizure of the Little Rock Arsenal:

"A company of mounted and armed cavalry arrived over land commanded by Captain Gist, brother of South Carolina's governor. The Phillips County Guards, from the surrounding county, soon joined them."

But so far I have not found where they entered Confederate Service. Any Ideas?
