The Grand Prairie Civil War Round Table will be meeting at the Lonoke
County Museum in downtown Lonoke, Arkansas, 215 South East Front Street, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
Vernon Dutton from Little Rock will bring our program. His talk will be on the 3rd Arkansas Infantry at Antietam . This is the only AR regiment that served in the Army of Northern Virginia for the duration of the war. Since 1994, Dutton has participated in over 20 major reenactments including Gettysburg , Shiloh, and Antietam . Dutton served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Dutton is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association and is licensed to sell professional liability insurance in 12 states.
He is the author of a new book: Civil War Reflections: Honoring the Battles, Soldiers and Spirits published by Time Travelers Publishing in 2012. He will bring a few copies to our meeting.
He is member of the Civil War Roundtable of Arkansas and holds the rank of High Private in the 3rd Arkansas Infantry, a reenactment unit dedicated to the preservation of Civil War history.
