A couple of Good Bets to get started on is Dawson' 19th Arkansas Infantry.

Company "B" 19th AR. was mustered at Center Point,

Company "G" & "I" were mustered at Nashville.

I would suspect that some of the men of the 24th Arkansas Inf. would have also been from that area also, since many of the men from Dawson's Unit made up a large part of Portlock's 24th Arkansas. But I don't know how you would determine that without doing an awful lot of checking Geneology census records against the Muster rolls of these two Units.

Company "F" of the 24th was enlisted at Washington Arkansas. It is possible that some of the men of what is now Howard County may have traveled there to enlist. Company "K" was enlisted from Pike County.

As you know a good number of these men of the 19th and 24th died at Camp White Sulphur Springs without records before their musters were completed.
