Thought I would give this a try.... I am searching for information on AR Cavalry Co K McNeill's Regiment and can't seem to make any sense of what I am finding. I am new at this but would really like to find out about this regiment my GGG grandfather Thomas Alexander Maxwell served in. The information below is what's listed on my GGG grandfathers pension record. I found a Thomas Maxwell on the National Park Service website soldier look-up but he is listed as being in "Gordon's Regiment AR Cavalry"? Any information about "McNeill's" AR Cavalry would be much appreciated.
I have been reading the posts here for several weeks about the 3rd AR Infantry after researching my 3 GGG uncles. I live on their old home place and was curious about their history. I was told the 3 brothers all "served in the CSA army with Robert E. Lee... 2 were in the band". That was about all the information I could get from living family so I started my own research. I was excited to find this message board and have enjoyed reading the posts here. I have obtained more information than I ever thought I would when I started this quest and the best info was from your boards. Thank you for all your hard work and the wealth of knowledge I have already received from previous posts here!
