My personal estimation is that those were part of the 1 million dollars worth (16,000 arms recieved by Hindman and Taylor of Louisiana) purchased by Hindman and sent by Richmond from the castoffs of the Army of Northern Virginia after they had been nicely re-equiped by the Union Army after the Seven Days Battle and Second Manassas.
