Below is a list of 54 white men in the 1st Chickasaw Cavalry Battalion in 1865 whose records show they joined the battalion prior to Feb. 1864. (Does not include Texans of the original company E who became Capt. John J. Scanland's company and later company A of Scanland's Squadron.)

This battalion was organized for service in the Chickasaw Nation and was, in whole or in part, stationed at various times at Ft Cobb, Ft Arbuckle, Ft Washita, Rock Academy (Wapanucka), and Cochran's (Pontotoc, later Old Stonewall and Frisco).

First organization in late 1861 under Lt. Col. Joseph D. Harris.

Reorganized in Oct. 1862 under Lt. Col. Lemuel M. Reynolds (formerly captain, Co. E, 1st Choctaw & Chickasaw Mounted Rifles).

Reorganized in Oct. 1864 under Lt. Col. Martin Shecoe (promoted from captain, co. A), also know as Shecoe's Chickasaw Battalion. Became part of Col. R.W. Lee's command on NW frontier of Indian Territory.
