Re: Trans-Mississippi Rifle Regiments

Hey Damon, I probably have some documents in one of my famous boxes. If I run across something relevant, I'll be sure to let you know.

In the meantime, none of the other regiments organized during Hindman's tenure were referred to as Trans-Mississippi regiments, only those Arkansas infantry regiments assigned to Price's Division, and the designations didn't come into use until after Price became division commander. Interestingly, none of the Missouri infantry regiments which served under Price were so designated.

Speaking of my boxes, the one I've worked down to at present includes my old handwritten notes on Arkansas companies that served in the Indian Territory, attached to various Indian regiments. I've finished transcribing Stone's, Winfrey's and Minhart's companies, and am just about done transcribing Tinnin's company. I had done this research nearly 30 years ago, and over the years had forgotten just how much good information I had. I'll post the rosters at some point.
