Co. B was mustered into service at Cotton Plant on May 28, 1862, under Capt. Arthur F. Stephenson, who was promoted to major on December 9, 1862.

Cos. E-F-G-H-I were organized under the Conscript Act.

Co. K was mustered into service in White County on May 25, 1862, under Capt. Thomas B. Mosely, who resigned very shortly thereafter. This appears to have been an understrength company, which recruited heavily in June and July to come up to strength.
