Gents,

Cabell may have brought several of the ANV silk flags with him when he went Trans-Mississippi. The 9th Texas Cavalry got one and lost it at Corinth to an Ohio regiment. This flag was mistakenly sent to Georgia as being the banner of the 1st Georgia Confederate taken at the Battle of Atlanta. It is not that flag for a post-war description of it clarifies that it was a rectangular Augusta Depot battle flag.

How many Cabell took is not known but it seems that some did end up getting used in the Trans-Miss.
