Thanks for the excellent work as always. I assumed that Price's strength numbers were the total assigned on the Rolls, not everyone actually present. I agree that unless the 36th was dramatically different than the rest, non of these regiments could muster 500 effectives at this point in the war. Doubtful that any could muster more than about 150, if that. I am still interested in the method that he used to come up with that number. Perhaps he is just starting with the last know muster roll and subtracting the know losses after that date. His footnote makes a reference to interviews of prisoners but I am not sure what this means.
