Excellent article on the Arkansas militias. Based on the bibliography, it took a considerable amount of research. As a minor amateur collector, my personal favorite was the 1819 Hall Breech Loader article. Although I had heard of the Hall Rifle, without seeing one, it was difficult to envision the design. The description and pictures provided in the article made it a true pleasure to read and learn exactly how they were designed, loaded, and fired. My first reaction was why didn't these rifles become a standard until the article explained the problem with escaping gases. The journal is a credit to those who produce it. Thanks for posting.
