THe 4th went east with Van Dorn and was later brigaded with the 1st Mounted Rifles, 2nd Mounted Rifles, 30th Ark Inf (redesignated the 25th), 31st Ark Inf, and the 4th Ark Battalion. At one time the 9 th was briefly brigaded, and the 31st removed. For most of the war McNair/Reynolds brigade was 1st and 2nd Mtd Rifles, 4th Inf, 4th Battalion and 25th Inf.
