The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Is paining accurate.

One of my prized possessions is a painting by Dale Gallon of Cleburne at Franklin. The image includes at least two flags, one is the Hardee Pattern Flag that I believe is intended to be the flag of the the consolidate 8/13th Arkansas, because of the cannons on the flag. I know that many of the flags of Govans Brigade were captured when the brigade was overrun at Jonesboro and I understand that the Brigade at Franklin was probably about thee consolidated regiments. But the painting also has at least two Saint Andrews, Army of Norther Virginia Glags as part of Cleburnes line. I know that Joe Johnson brought that flag to the Army of Tennessee when he took command during the Atlanta Campaign. But I always thought Hardee and Cleburne keep their moon pattern flags. What say you. Would there have been that many Saint Andrews Crosses in Cleburne's line during the final charge at Franklin.
