While I am not able to give you a specific answer to your question, Fort Smith had been prior to the War a primary army supply post for western army theaters in the Indian Territories. Some as far away as California as exampled by the "Great Camel Cavalry" experiment of Sec. of War Jefferson Davis. In 1862 three of those camel were reported "recaptured" by Union Force at Fort Smith. As such it may have contained all sorts of military supplies as it was being constantly resupplied as late as April 1861. It was a supply point for the outfitting of several of the early volunteer companies in the area. I am sure that by the time that the Montgomery Hunter arrived that most of those supplies had been pick over (such as Arms and accessories) but smaller such items as blankets and headquarters supplies may have been available.
