I acknoythere is a gap from Nov 1862 until July 1863. Either George Holt fills this gap, or the office was vacant until Rector, with Little Rock now threatened, tries to revive the militia. Remember that Hindman had enforced his conscription program with drafts from the militia in the summer of 1862. After a round of musters designed to meet Hindman’s quotas in June and July of 1862, we have very little documented militia activity until after the fall of Little Rock when Flanigan again calls out the militia of the southern counties in order to fill his call for new units of State Troops.
