I guess it all depends on perspective. You are right, their has been several works. But I think proportionally Arkansas and its contribution tends to be down played. A case in point. To the Missouri Regiment and the 3rd Iowa Calvary Regiment the Action At Spring River considered the engagement as a battle. And the 3rd Iowa had it sown on their colors as a battle. It included all of the available Confederate Command in the area and it included the largest Union command in the region. It had Artillery, Calvary and Infantry. The engagement lasted 4 hours. The union had 4 dead. I know it does not match Pea Ridge or Prairie Grove. The 3rd Iowa was in some major engagements and ranked it with them. I think the classification should be revisited at some point.
