I agree about Hilary and Central High School. Nobody talks about the towns who had it right like Hoxie. I was born in the early 1960s and my graduating class was the first class in my high school that was fully integrated the entire 12 grades. My town had it right. And in regards to race. I have update in regards to the 60th USCTI in 1865. Many of this unit died in early 1865 and buried in the National Cemetery in Little Rock. I found that in addition to Batesville, Jacksonport, Powhatan, Little Rock, And Searcy, detachments were also at Augusta, Salem and in Franklin County. The Regiment had 6 casualties in the period 1 at Powhatan, 6 at Jacksonport which one was a suicide. I have the info from their service records.
