Fred: I checked on line and found the following information on your ancestor for Friendship Cemetery:

"John W. Shoptow died Dec. 15, 1863, 1st Arkansas Battalion Cavalry". If the cemetery personnel missed it, don't be surprised. He was listed in the alphabetical
