In addition to my earlier reply, Loudon married Mary Turner Inge in 1856. You'll note that Loudon's battalion contained a company commanded by a captain Inge.
His middle name was Tyner. He was the son of Thomas and Sarah (Tyner) Loudon of Williamson County, IL. John was county clerk, and a delegate ton the 1847 IL Constitutional Convention.
