My Impression is that there were very few true Cavalry (horse to horse) engagements in Arkansas. Probably because of terrain. Such battles as Pine Bluff and Mark's Mill were fought on foot as dismounted cavalry. Or more properly as Mounted Infantry, from the Confederate perspective, after 1862. Of course there is no standard example fits all incidents. Standard Cavalry tactics were based on the use of the horse to move quickly for example scouting, raiding, and harassing the enemy.
