If the reference to the Battle of Corinth (Oct 1862) is actually to the Campaign of Corinth (April - May 1862) then the unit could be John H. Kelly's 9th Arkansas Infantry Battalion. On 7 May 1862 this unit of four companies (formerly of the 14th, McCarver's, Arkansas Infantry) was consolidated into two companies and merged with Desha's 7th Arkansas Infantry Battalion along with the remainder of the original 8th Arkansas Infantry to form the re-organized 8th Arkansas Infantry under Kelly's command . An H. C. Baker is listed as a private in Company B, 8th Arkansas Infantry.
