John and James Evans. Sons of William Levi Evans. Crawford, Washington, and Madison Counties in Arkansas. They were in Co E, 34th Arkansas Infantry, Confederate. Col Brooks regiment. I have found nothing specific about them or their Company. I did find some history in after action reports at https://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/entries/frog-bayou-expedition-6714/. Apparently, the Union leaders really wanted to catch these guys. I, also, found this list of actions that was helpful in developing a picture.
