From find-a-grave...

John "Riddle" (Riddle H.) Benge was the son of Robert H. Benge and Jennie Lowrey; he was born in the Old Skin Bayou Dist. of the Cherokee Nation. [Skin Bayou District was renamed Sequoyah District and is adjacent to Crawford County and Fort Smith, i.e. north side of the Arkansas]

Riddle was in the Civil War, a private in the First Regiment Cherokee Volunteers, 2nd Co. B, under Col. Stand Watie and Col. James M. Bell; he was also a corporal in Co. J and was at the Battle of Wilson Creek in MO and his brother Robert Benge (called Robin) was killed in this battle.

This would suggest it was brother Robin and not John H. "Riddle" Benge that was killed at Wilson's Creek. John died in 1903.
