Were Enfield's caried by the 9th Georgia?

Hello,
My name is Neal Griffin. I maintain a website on the 9th Georgia Infantry, an A.N.V. unit at: http://members.aol.com/Gainf9reg/index2.html
I have researched the unit for about 3 years, as time and treasure allow. In going over O.R.reports, letters, and newspaper articles, I have yet to see a mention of what kind of rifle they carried. I assume it was a combination of Enfields and Springfields, as I understand the cartridges were interchangable. The only reference to specific arms was a recollection by a soldier in the 11th Ga. to his "trusty Whitfield". The 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 59th Georgia regiments were in "Tige" Anderson's Brigade of Hood's Division in Longstreet's Corps. Any assistance, or steering me in the direction of where I may find this is appreciated. Of the several photos I have obtained, the rifles appear to be smoothbores, but I'm thinking these were probably taken early in the war, and were "props" used by the photographer over-and-over, and not the arm carried at the many battles the 9th was in....
