However, On the specific question though of Weaver's uniform - If his belt plate was part of the 1860 Gaylord/Ames purchase - would that not imply that at least some of the equipment came from the State? - or was distributed from State stocks?

I had made the assumption that since Weaver may be about the only Arkansas State Seal Oval Plate owner that can be placed as early as Wilson's Creek - that at least part of his uniform or equipment was State supplied.
