Several years ago I bought a replica of a minie ball that had been pounded into a 3 inch writing tool with a pointed end. I used this "pencil" to write several words on a sheet of paper, so one like it constructed by a Civil War soldier could have been used to write a letter. Have any of you heard of any "dug" CW relics such as I have described? . . . Joe Ashley
