There continues to be debate about these M-Rifles. There is also evidence that they were assembled from a mix of British and domestic parts by Walter Watson of Fayetteville, NC - several original M-Rifles bear Walter Watson's marks. Then again ... I have also read that these Walter Watson markings are post-war, applied to increase the value of the guns. I don't know the validity of this info.
