Re: Hall's Independent Brigade Sharpshooters

Hall's Independent Sharpshooters Battalion, both company A and Company B were issued the M 1855 61&63 U.S. rifle muskets. This information comes from James G. Genco's book Arming Michign's Regiments 1862-1864. It is possible that like some other Michigan sharpshooter units that some men would have purchased their own rifles. It would appear that the wore the standard frock coat. I had an ancestor in this unit and have a photo of him.
