Re: ISSUED WEAPONS 42 AL INF REG

Mark, I have a Colt 44 handed down by my dad. It was given to him by an old gentleman in Foster, RI after WW11. The numbers match on every movable part on the weapon. I recently had a local gunsmith replace parts with oringinal parts. I fired it last week and I will tell you what a thrill. This weapon probably hasn't by fired by the looks of the wear of differant parts on the weapon since the late 1800's. It,s in excellent condition, but I am not looking to sell I am interested in matching serial numbers to the soldier to whom it was issued.I don't think they took this information during the war, but it's worth the looking into. If thereis such records please contact me on my e-mail.

Thanks, Don
