I have a Saber with markings on the hilt as follows:
C637. It ha a leather wrapped handle with gold colored wire wrapped around it. There is no scabbord with it. I was told it was an officers saber and another said it was an unmarked Calvery around 1860 era.

I am looking for any information on this item. If possible, a ballpark value on such an item.
