I recently found two civil war swords from a family friend that are very interesting, I suppose one more so than the other. One of them is a Beautiful Sword that has a Brass Eagle's Head for the handle & Pearl inlay. It also has a Beautiful Brass scabbard(spelling)? to hold this sword. I was curious if anybody may know something about it? The other sword I have seen some of on the internet, though I can't find anything that remotly compares to the brass one. Also, the soldier it belonged to was Dr. A. P. McDaniel of the Confederate Army. We also have his Medical Bag with all the equipment he was provided during the war. Anyways, if you can help me out with identifying the sword, because there are two stories behind the sword & determining which side these swords were issued too, it could make a quite wonderful story.
