P53 Enfield Rifle

I have an Enfield P-53 Lockplate 1861 I purchased several years ago and need some clarification on some markings. After removing the Barrel I found stamped in all caps W MILLWARD I assume this to be the Barrel maker? I checked the 1891 Census and found a William H Millward 54 yrs old in Birmingham Warwichshire as Gunmaker. Could be the same he would of been 24 in 1861. On the top of the Brass Butang is stamped 1343 on the right side of the shoulder stock is a "G" about 5/8 to 3/4 inch high. Could this be a stamp for Georgia. I have read that Georgia was one state that had direct contracts with the Birmingham Gunmakers and were one of the first to receive Enfields for their troops.
