Hayes , forgive me but, I can't find anything on the 3rd Mich.CAv. in the link you posted.I do know when the regiment veteranized in Jan.of 1864 for a period they were dismounted stationed at St.Louis,Mo. by Feb.7,1864 they were remounted and given new weapons which it was my understanding were a sort of revolving rifle.I am trying to find my notes seemed they,the rifles were a burden as did not function well in the field.Then Stationed around Brownsville/DeVall's Bluff,Ark.Let me do some digging.Thank you for the reply..
