I also have a Richmond and I hate it. It is forever misfiring. I took mine to a gunsmith and had the Hole under the cleanout screw (I am sure it has a correct name but I do not know it) drilled as large as was safe. I also use fff powder it is finer and it works much better. Also when I get done field cleaning my gun I put some 93% rubbing alcohol down the barrel and let it run out the nipple then swab it dry, this tends to help evaporate any moisture that may be left under the cap. When I oil the barrel I spray the oil on a patch and swab it as to not have it drip down the barrel and accumulate under the nipple I hope this helps you. One more tip I have learned, if I am going on the field and I know it is going to rain I will coat the outside of the barrel with boar butter and this keeps is from rusting so quick. ( sorry for my poor spelling the good lord did not give me the gift of being a writer)
